A little Behind the Scenes
Hi! I’m Bailey, owner and the head baker behind The Bakers Cauldron.
This whole thing started in 2020, like a lot of stories do… stuck at home during COVID, needing something to pour myself into. At the time, I had been working in healthcare for 18 years. Baking was never the plan, it was just something I picked up as a creative outlet to get through a really heavy time. I started small, hot cocoa bombs, cupcakes, decorated cakes just trying things, learning as I went. And honestly, there was a lot of trial and error. A lot of figuring it out the hard way. A lot of starting over. I went through different ideas, different styles, even different versions of what I thought this business was supposed to be.
But none of it really felt like me… until I found stuffed cookies. That was the moment everything clicked.
They were bold, messy, over-the-top, and completely different from what everyone else was doing and for the first time, I felt like I wasn’t trying to fit into the baking world… I was creating my own space in it. I leaned into what I love, darker aesthetics, moody vibes, a whole LOT of chaos and The Bakers Cauldron was born from that. At some point, this little hobby didn’t feel so little anymore. I made the decision to walk away from my career in healthcare and take a chance on something that actually made me feel alive. It wasn’t easy, and it definitely wasn’t predictable, but it was mine. Today, every single thing that comes out of The Bakers Cauldron is made by me, the stuffed cookies, cupcakes, jumbo cinnamon rolls… all of it. This is a true micro bakery, and I’ve chosen to keep it that way on purpose.
And then there’s my wonderful husband, Kirby.
He’s the very reason I’ve been able to keep going on the hard days and the person who believed in this long before it became what it is now. You’ll see him every Saturday behind the counter, packing up boxes, handing off cookies, and talking with customers like he’s known them forever. He works a full-time job and runs his own business, but still shows up every single week to support this dream right alongside me.
We get asked all the time why we’re only open one day a week. The truth is, I never wanted this to become something big and impersonal. I never wanted a team of bakers making my recipes or to step away from the part I love most, which is actually creating. Growth is amazing, and I’m so grateful for it, but staying true to what this is matters more to me.
I want every single customer to know that when you order from The Bakers Cauldron, it’s still me in the kitchen. I’m still the one mixing, testing, baking, and putting everything together by hand. I don’t ever want to hand that off.
This bakery isn’t just about desserts, it’s a piece of my life, my story, and everything I’ve built from the ground up.
And the fact that people show up, support it, and love it for exactly what it is… that means more than I can ever really put into words.
